New member my 68 pics plans
Hi everybody
Happy to be here at this resource powerhouse I have a 1968 GMC 2500 2wd which is in very good rust free condition with exception to a minor spot on the left firewall which is infecting the left kick panel. The truck had a slide in camper in it the majority of its life which saved the bed perfectly. Zero dents or creases. It spent time in California was built in the Midwest and the body shows it. While someone tore off the spid label I am quite aware of how it was optioned. It was built with a 351 gmc v6 with a stromberg 2bbl manual choke. I ruined this engine on the interstate unfortunately. Apparently this truck wasn't built for that sort of traveling. The turbo 400 is still intact. I have the adapter plates for the gmcv6 to th 400. It has power drum brakes. No sway bar. 4.11 full floater rear. A lot of useless leaf springs. It was originally light yellow with gray grille and bumpers and tripod mirrors. Reflectors but no sidemarker lamps. I assume white wheels with white or gray caps. The truck was repainted single stage ford Daytona yellow which has failed and done poorly which i don't like. It has chrome steel 16.5 American racing wheels which want to do nothing but rust. The interior was originally saddle buddy buckets with padded door panels and carpet, color keyed belts, lighter, radio, chrome pedal trim, chrome cluster trim, chrome horn button but black dash knobs. No headliner. Gauges no tach no vacuum. Soft Ray glass. Someone had reupholstered the seats and panels in black velour with light purple piping. Black visors. The rest of the saddle is intact other than seatbelt buckles and the center belt which i found in a dead Malibu. I want to install a 6.0 ls1 with 4l80e with corvette intake drive by cable and adapt the stock instrumentation. And keep factory column. Under bed fuel tank. I recently purchased disc spindle and brake assemblies from an 84 c2500. Power steering box and sway bar. I also found a rwd c/d body Cadillac brougham which i took the accelerator pedal for to keep the early tall pedal. I want to paint it light yellow in honor of not only the original color but the 71 Chevy custom deluxe c30 single wheel that my great uncle special ordered for his lobstering business. It was also light yellow but was black w rubber mat and steel door panels. 292/3 w granny on floor. I want to high detail the interior stock black vinyl buddies carpet chrome black 67 nova chevelle deluxe SS wheel with chrome spokes on a new tilt wheel and get the full exterior chrome package. A lot of work and money ahead. I'll post some very recent pics when I figure out how Thanks for reading this book

Can only seem to upload one at a time. This is before it was washed. Don't mind that stupid aluminum cap it only lives to keep the box dry. Factory panels everywhere. Factory spot welds on the rocker and cab corner pinch welds still visible. Doors wheel arches all virgin and solid.

Can I ask why you want to put a car intake on the motor? other than looks, I can't think of a reason. You will lose low end torque with that put it will look better than the truck intake. Oh by the way I really like the truck and the plan. Jim
