I'm a round eye traitor, so my opinion may be a little biased. However, you should know that the dually-specific trim, in any condition, is a b#### to find anymore. I took them off of mine and almost started a riot when I listed them for sale.
Then I lost the box I put 'em in. I think I accidentally threw them away. #D'OH! |

Call me CRAZY , but I like the new headlight and grille setup but with the older stainless body side molding.
Anyone ever tried to install the older front fender stainless on the newer fenders? I know the front body line is different. Desert |

Myself I'm ok either way. Since you have the newer front end anyways and it looks like it's in great conditon, I would spend the money on dressing up what you have. Some side molding, wheel well trim and a few other things and you will have a great looking truck there.

I personally would put a mid 80s 4 headlight and billet grill setup on what you got and call it good though the round eyes are nice as well they look a lot more aggressive in my opinion

Funny right? ....most people seem to want the front 90/91 clip ...everyone local i talk to say im goin backwards, but "to me" it gets no better than the 77 gold trim... (or the "75 gentleman jim" trim)

I'm biased toward the 86/87 front clip and grill, I don't like the 90/91 front end at all. Not a big fan of the older style either.

Re: 1990 to 1976 front clip swap...Opinions?
I was under the impression that the "Newer than 87" would not be compatible for the old clip.
Meaning: the 73-81 clips will fit up to 87, but not 88-91. Did you ever do this? Exactly what I want to do. |

Re: 1990 to 1976 front clip swap...Opinions?
Count me in on the original styling front end. Lets face it, original styling character theme was about rounded corners. This was obvious in windshields, front bumpers, side lamps and fenders as well as headlights. When these trucks were warmed over in '81,and the front end work just never matched the styling of the rest of the truck. The sharp edges of the grills, fenders , side lamps and front bumpers don't match the contours of the old body. IMO, the height of styling was '77- '78.
