anyone here use them on there truck? also do you know whee to get them other then lmc? 130 is alot when you have a few of these trucks.

You didn't link anything to see exactly what you're talking about... so this may or may not work with your applications... But what about adding a heating element to your existing mirrors. Something like in the link below....

I saw lmc had a set forsale when I was looking at mirrors im sure hes speaking about those. If I didn't have a all manual truck I would have looked into that more

i am talking about the ones like lmc i just cant justify 130 for them when i have 3 trucks to do. i wonder if you took the handle heaters and put them on the glass inside if that would work??? but can you even get to the glass with out braking it?

I've never tried them, I just wish they had more options. LMC offers both flat and convex mirrors, in a variety of finishes. If you want heated, however, you're limited to flat glass in a stainless steel finish only.

ATV handlebar heaters get real hot. I have a set of inside the bar heaters on my Polaris and it gets too hot to grab if I'm not careful.
I'd be worried about breaking the glass on some cold day.
You might try your local glass place. They may be able to get just the glass panels with heating elements for those stainless Dumbo mirrors like LMC is selling... only for a lot less.
Then you could find a G series GM Van or a 94-01 Dodge Ram to pillage the electric dumbo mirror heads from.

Sounds like a small price to pay for what you'll be getting. Maybe you could do 1 set a month. I agree the handle elements may break the glass and good luck getting them off.

The mirror glass is attached with a dab or two of silicone RTV on my mirrors. Pep Boys used to have just the mirror glass for replacement, but I have not seen them there the last time I was in the store. The GM factory I worked in where these mirrors were made used RTV. Mirror glass came from a company called Donnelly.

I did a search because this is actually a useful mod for folks that are using their squares and T400 trucks for a daily driver.
Just because the ATV grip wide trace elements are too aggressive doesn't mean there's nobody making retrofit narrow trace mirror glass elements.
I actually found some on Fleabay. These along with the electric mirrors from the G vans are a fairly quick update that doesn't look out of place.

i have a old set of mirrors i can try to get apart
i think i will look into the matt and see what i can do if anything lol. some times i dont have good luck with this kind of stuff

I believe the tube that fits into the mount is hollow and you might be able to slide the heating elements into the tube... it might be enough heat to defrost the mirror via induction. Not ideal but better than breaking the glass.... on the other hand, the heaters and a new piece of glass is probably cheaper than the LMC ones...

It is. That's how the power dumbos on the G series vans and the Dodge trucks run the wiring.
If you're going to heat up the whole cavity behind the mirror just put the ATV grip heaters on the metal backshell.
