help: instrument bezels - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

i need to buy a need bezel to put my autometer gauges in for my 70. i was wondering if anyone has the pics of what a "all chrome" bezel would look like and a picture of the "black with the chrome trim" bezel pictures. any pics to help me out for a decision would be appreciated. thanks

Can't remember who this is but really like the way it was done. I think he used a plate behind the bezel to attach the guages.

Is there anything special one needs to do when installing the Autometer or any other speedo? I have been thinking of doing the same thing you did, but didn't know if the speedo was "plug-n-play" or if I needed a special cable or anything on the tranny....

oh okay, i see. i now have a black panel that i tested and painted chrome and suprisingly it turned out sweet! I have the autometer silver faced gauges though. I like the silver over the black ones. I was wondering the difference between the 2 models that "Chevy Duty" has for sale. Thanks

The speedo is mechanical and uses a regular cable.

Where can I find more info on this set-up?

I looked for the correct guage size to fill the factory tach hole but all I found autometer offers are 5", 2 1/16", and 2 5/8". Suggestions anyone?

Look for liquid filled guages. I think they make 4 of them and they are 3 3/8.

It looks like only the 'Phantom' series offers guages other than the speedo/tach in 3 3/8".

Well, I went through there & looked @ so many different guages I'm starting to wonder if I saw more than just them..... I'll look again in a bit to dbl check. I wanted the carbon fiber series.

don,t get this bezel it s from covans classic. it fits like crap and the holes are to small for the gauges.

Is that the same manufacture that Classic Industries sells. Because I was thinking of getting the on that you cut your own holes for the gauges.

It looks like a lot __________________ 1967 Chevrolet LWB with built 292! 415 ft. lbs of torque, 4 speed :O with 27% overdrive too, 3.73 Posi. Frame and body done... getting painted!!!
