need help with the mounting brackets
I AM IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING MY AC BACK UP AND RUNNING. I AM TRYING TO GET THE COMPRESSOR mounted and something isn't right. these are not the brackets that came with the truck I bought them from someone here. the top bracket that mounts to the manifold is hitting the valve cover before it gets to the compressor. also where does the round rod go that is on the end of it. looking at a service manual the flat bar from the manifold appears to hook to the back of the compressor. I don't see where the round bar goes, there was also a "L" shaped piece that was on the end of the round rod. any help and or pics would be greatly appreciated.....
thanks keith

Re: need help with the mounting brackets
Your valve covers look taller than stock, I'd guess that's why the bracket hits. The rod on the back attaches to a triangular bracket on the back of the compressor, not the bracket you have it attached to.

Re: need help with the mounting brackets
Hi Keith, your brackets are the correct short water pump big block pieces but your aftermarket valve covers are too tall. The below pictures should answer your above questions, if you have any other big block related questions/parts needs let me know as we have a bunch of this OE factory big block stuff pulled and shelved. Re: need help with the mounting brackets
That support rod does does not attach to the triangular compressor bracket, it goes where he has it and then both the stacked bracket and rod bolt directly into the rear of the compressor. Mel
