Side markers
Here is a newbie question. I've seen both the basic and the deluxe side markers on a 1968 c10. Which one would be the correct one or were they both offered that year?

Re: Side markers
The deluxe markers were 71-72 only. I think they look much better than the plain markers so I run deluxe on all of mine, 68-72

Re: Side markers
The deluxe markers came out in 69 i believe. Your 68 would have had standard reflectors.

Re: Side markers
Ok. I thought the deluxe came out later. And I agree that the deluxe looks a little more sporty. Now, when did the factory start wiring them up?

Re: Side markers
I agree. My 69 CST came with standard reflectors. It was made about mid-December 1968. I bought it new in late 1969 then noticed that other 69 CSTs I was seeing had the deluxe marker lights. I contacted Chevrolet and was told that the lighted deluxe markers, headliner and cargo lamp were added to the CST option, as I recall, in late December 1968. I believe that's when the standard markers were also lighted. Perhaps to meet new regulations requiring lights in Jan. 1969? The early lighted front markers did not flash with the turn signals whereas the later front markers did.
