Cool Any value to anyone ??

OK, getting ready to pull the 235 and 4 speed out of my '61. Have checked locally (Western Nebraska) and nobody seems to need or want it. I was hoping it would go into a restore rather than the salvage yard.

So as I stood beer in hand and gazing at the 235, I wondered if maybe I should pull the alternator, carb, distributor, fuel pump, starter, etc. This items could be shipped.

Is there any interest in the stock/original stuff, or should I just haul it for scrap ?? Seems a waste, but I don't have a hell of a lot of room.

If you are in Western Ne, eastern Wyo, or northern Colorado (or anywhere !) and want this, it's yours !

Re: Any value to anyone ??

Although I'm not there, I have family in Greeley, Co so if you're giving it up, I'll take it. I have a 60 that originally had a 235 but was swapped for a 350. I'd like to put it back to original and the only unoriginal part of the truck is the motor! Pm me and we'll work out the details. Thx

Mark

Sweet ! I have friends in Greeley also. It's all yours. Will PM you. The torsion suspension and rear end will be available at some point also.

Thanks for the reply. Glad it's not going to the scrap yard !!

Re: Any value to anyone ??

If you get close to scrapping the lower a-arms, I might be interested. I have a fabrication idea that I think would benefit a lot of us who want to keep the torsion suspension. Basically it's a bolt on lower ball joint sleeve that will bolt to the 60-62 lower arms, but allows someone to use the 73-87 ball joints - which in turn let's someone use all of the front suspension components from a 73-87 and keep the 60-62 torsion suspension.

Re: Any value to anyone ??

LostMy65, I'll keep you in mind. Haven't decided whether I am doing the cross member swap yet or not.

But anything stock that comes off the truck will be posted here first. I just hate to see any old iron go to scrap, cause once it's gone, it's gone.

I did the cross member swap on a 66 and the stock one is gathering snow. Hate to scrap it so it's up for grabs if someone is collecting parts in this area.

Yeah, it really sucked to see all the old iron in the salvage yards and tree rows around here get crushed when scrap was high a few years ago. Literally tons of old cars, trucks and tractors hauled away.

Used to spend hours walking the yards, picking up a piece here and there.
