Porterbuilt front and rear with a 4l80e?
Ok i have a question and i cant seem to find a straight up answer, i tried calling porterbuilt but havent gotten a answer on the other end of the phone for over a week.
Will a 4l80e hang too low below the frame rails with the pb extreme dropmembers? What have people done to make this work with a 6.0? Im trying to make the right decision with this truck and would prefer a 4l80e over the 60e but unsure of the fitment issues. I have a "big hump" tunnel. Ive searched the forums and know its been done but didnt find much info about how it fit and if it hung lower than the 60e

I had the same problem contacting Dave at Porterbuilt on the phone. They do emails but not much on the phone. He says he cant keep up with the phone but when he has a break he can reply to emails

Re: Porterbuilt front and rear with a 4l80e?
The 4L80E shouldn't hang any lower than any other GM auto trans as long as it has a standard depth pan. Of course this is going to depend on the engine and trans mounts used. Doesn't the Porterbuilt front suspension raise the engine?

Re: Porterbuilt front and rear with a 4l80e?
Thanks for the response guys, im kinda realizing that it should not hang below the frame at all and i can always shim up the motor and trans if it does sit a little too low for my liking. I think im going to go and hit a salvage yard for a 4l80e trans to use for mock up/core purposes. Im still waiting on the mounts themselves from porterbuilt anyway. Just my head spinning with information and though overload.
captainfab its ironic that you commented, i have a gpsbrakes master and booster and i wanted to use your bracket to mount it to the firewall

Re: Porterbuilt front and rear with a 4l80e?
My motor and trans moved at least 2" up and forward. I made my mount work inside the frame instead of under for my TKO 600. With +-2 degrees
