Re: cab swap

Most cabs have dimples to drill the holes for the clutch and it should have a indent for the shifter hole as long as it's close to the year for hydraulic clutch

Re: cab swap

if its 85 and up it should have the dimple on the firewall for the clutch master, and if your old cab has a good hump (high hump)where the shifter is ,cut it loose to use it on your auto. cab

Re: cab swap

You may find your SM465 hitting the floor on the low hump 2WD cab. And the late model cabs the floor is one piece, no bolt on hump.

Re: cab swap

Your need a high hump cab, or you could replace the tunnel if you can find a good high tunnel to swap into a low tunnel cab, I have done it, but it was not pretty, but if you take your time it can be done to look OE. Best bet is to find a hi tunnel cab, manual 2wd, or most 4x4s. If you end up needing a hi hump, look for a 4x4 suburban from 85-91 and cut the tunnel out of that, better chance of finding a decent tunnel, and it will work for a 2 door cab.

Nice truck, what bed is that?

Here is mine, 1987 R30, with a Century Bed.

Re: cab swap

You might be able to get away with a bit of a body lift rather than hacking the floor up.
