S10 conversion gas tank filler ideas

I want to keep my s10 tank in the stock location. Any ideas on what to do with the filler neck tube. I really want to run the tube to the outside of the bed above the running board splash shield. I also would like to see what everyone is doing to make it look nice inside the bed because I may have to notch the bed wood to get the filler outside the bed. I am also open to other ideas.Any pics would be good

Re: S10 conversion gas tank filler ideas

a lot of modern trucks have a bump in the bed to accommodate the fuel line passing through the bed. You could just do that, even if you are staying with a wood bed. I saw someone on this board used an old can with the bottom cut out to hide the bump. At least your filler neck faces the side of the truck. My filler neck faced the rear of the truck so I had to notch the frame support AND run the thing through the center of the frame just to get it to the side.

I put out with a slight rise. I probably won't be able to fill it completely because it's it's not as high as it was before.

Cool idea on the ammo can, plus you can throw some misc. stuff in there. I was thinking about doing a cooler or old tool box bolted to the bed for the battery.

the cooler is being used as a cooler, but the ammo can is just big enough to fit the old s10 filler port in. Had to offset it to the front of the box so i can get the nozzle down to it.

Here's mine. '52 filler tube welded to S10 filler tube, stock '52 rubber grommet installed in the bed side hole, down to the 20 gallon S10 tank.

Nothing shows inside bed, looks original with the correct cap and rubber piece.
