ET Guessing Game

Soooo who wants to make a prediction?
The truck went 10.45's with a 1.42 sixty running the 434 in 3000-3500' Da air.
was:
(13.2:1, solid roller Older AFR 220 heads, 265/ 276 @ 0.050, .670 lift, two 750's on a Holley ProRam,, running 12.8-12.9:1 a/f datalogging WB O2,, the devils motor... 666HP on the dyno)
Was shifting at 6700 and crossing around 6800 at 119ish

Not going to the dyno with the new motor but should be an honest 450-460 HP,, may be a bit conservative,, we'll see.

New motor:
A 6" rod, pump gas, hydraulic roller 385
Zero decked 4.040 GMPP block, Cola crank I've been saving, Eagle ESP 6" H beams, JE flat top's, same AFR 220's for 9.7:1 compression. Using a port matched SuperVictor and (for the moment) a single Holley 3310. Howards Hydraulic roller 247/253 @ 0.050, .583 / .599 lift on a 108 CL

Will take the Hughes transbrake TH400 and 4800 stall 10" out, and build a stock 400 with ~3000ish stall converter.

Using same 4.30 gear and a 33" tire I expect it's going to struggle a bit on the top end,, BUT it's back to a STREET TRUCK with some ET to it,, not a track toy with SOME street capability. Will still have Hoosier QT Pro's so traction won't be a issue.

So let's hear it,, how much is this pig gonna slow down loosing about 200HP.

Last time it had a pump gas motor it was a heavy piston 383 with slightly less hydraulic roller cam (236/245, .545 lift) and a set of box stock AFR 210 heads, with a 780 ProSystems XC carb on the same SuperVic intake,, ran 12.2's @ 107 in 3000-3500' Da air. with 5.43 gear, same 4800 stall 10" converter but a TH350 with a sportsman brake, crossing at ~6600 typically 106-107MPH

Re: ET Guessing Game

1.2 seconds slower, give or take .2 if she's really running out of breath (or gear) up top.....

3 seconds if you can't remember how to leave off a footbrake after running a button for this long

Re: ET Guessing Game

I say put a plate under the carb with a progressive and run just as fast. I think N/A it will be 1.8 seconds slower.

Re: ET Guessing Game

So at 3,525lbs and 450rwhp, 4.56 and a 30" radial I went 11.4x @ 119mph with the 4L80E

I think your weight is similar to that if I remember right. If I figure 20% loss on 450hp that's +/- 360rwhp.

So I am going to say 12.4 @ 109 due to the stall...

Re: ET Guessing Game

I would think 11.8xx would be the time. That build is very close to mine. My cam is .585 .598 248/254 @ .050 on a 110. But mine is solid roller. I have RHS 220's and a little more compression At 10.19
