Rough country suspension?

How many of you have a rough country suspension lift on your blazers? Thinking of buying it myself for a beginner suspension.. How bad is the ride?

Re: Rough country suspension?

I think the name says it all - Rough Country I definitely recommend Superlift Softride springs. Much better ride quality in the same price range.

Re: Rough country suspension?

I got my Superlift susp. from Desert Rat Off-Road in Arizona. Pretty good deal but that was when I lived in Calif. The cost will be in shipping. those springs are heavy. I'd check with the guys at Off-road Design they know their Chevy trucks and sell top notch stuff.

Re: Rough country suspension?

I got my Superlift Softride springs through Four Wheel Parts. There is a store very close to me so I picked them up to avoid shipping cost.

How about "TUFF Country" springs? I got their 2½" kit with front and rear springs....long way from install...so it's not too late to change....

Re: Rough country suspension?

I have a tuff country 2 1/2 on my 70 with 33x12.50 tires. It rides pretty good and I think it looks and sits just right.

Re: Rough country suspension?

Nice!.....that's the look I want.....I have been hearing that the Tuff Country springs had decent ride quality.....I am at the bottom right now working my way up on a frame off rebuild.............re-building and re-gearing the axles.

Re: Rough country suspension?

I used Alcan Spring in Colorado. They asked questions regarding the desired lift, weight of driver, passengers and type of ride that I was looking for. Got my springs in about three weeks. More spendy but they they're USA made and you can actually talk to the people that make them. I would buy from them again, but I bet a good local spring shop could also custom make a set. I can post a picture if you like?

Re: Rough country suspension?

Minnz is spot on about Alcan. Never used their stuff before but have been doing the 4x4 thing since 78' and have heard great things about them. Worth the look IMO. Another company that comes to mind in the spring building is Deaver. Never a bad word about them. Remember you get what you pay for LOL. Don't go with someone that's "CHEAP". Its you butt in the seat and these old beast's are rough riding even in stock form. I have a standard 6" Superlift on mine and wish I had looked into a soft ride spring. Mine rides like a tank and I cursed the day I got my CHEAPER lift.

Re: Rough country suspension?

I put a Tuff country EZ Ride 4" lift on mine with 33x12.5 tires and actually think that it rides pretty decent for a short wheel base straight axle 4x4. I had a Jeep with a Rough Country and hated it. Here is a Picture.
