Anyone running 15x8 Steelies?

I picked up 2- 15x8" 6 lug steelies off of a 1980's CUCV military blazer. Just can't decide if I'd rather convert to the 5 lug and order the steelies off wheel vintiques staggered set 15x8 rear and 15x6 fronts or will I be okay with the Backspacing with my 6 lug steels? Planning on 275/60/15 rear and 225/70/15 fronts or??? Any pictures or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

It's a 1964 c10, swb, stock suspension, all 4 drums for now

Re: Anyone running 15x8 Steelies?

You will be fine with the former of the 6 lug wheels and tire sizes. This is my '63 with 15x8 (4" back spacing) all round. My tires are 275/60/15 and 255/60/15, the difference is that my truck has a 4/6 drop.

Re: Anyone running 15x8 Steelies?

A stepside is tighter by nature, I run 15-8 rear 265/70/15 with a 4-1/2" backspace.
Front is 15-7 with a 215/65/15 with a 3-1/2" backspace clears my disc/2" drop spindles.
I bought Wheel Vintique's smoothies from Summit on sale free shipping....I custom ordered the rear backspace a 1/2" deeper at $20 extra a wheel and a few weeks waiting for them...

I want to paint the rims on my Patina truck this color. I think it would look good against the green.

Same setup as darkhorse. I think if you went with a 60 series tire in the rear and a 70 up front it might look like the front wheels are bigger.

Re: Anyone running 15x8 Steelies?

I had 275/60/15 rears and 225/70/15 fronts on my 71 and they tucked nice, but these were rallies 5 lug. I think different BS and rear axle length in the 1971 trucks?!

Re: Anyone running 15x8 Steelies?

I run the same 8's on the back, 6's on front, 215/75 front 235/75 rear. Around here those 8's are kind of scarce.
