66 Standard Steering Wheel and Horn Button Assembly
Hello,
I see a ton of links but not exactly what I am looking for. When I bought my 66 the previous owner had installed a automatic column in it. It is a column from the same era and not something newer. Anyway, I have installed a 66 standard steering wheel and having a heck of a time finding accurate information on the steering wheel assembly for 1966. Everything from "is there a spring" to cancelling cam and horn assembly instructions w/ pics. Can anyone enlighten me? For example, I didnt have a cancelling cam on the steering wheel and now that I add it it appears that I no longer need the spring that was on the steering shaft. Is this correct? Thank you for your help. Dan |

How did you add the canceling cam?
The back of the wheel should look something like this: |

Thank you Dpowers. Yes, now that I have installed the cancelling cam it looks just like that. Is there still a shaft spring between the wheel and the bearing? I put mine back together without it cuz it doesnt seem like it will fit with one.

There is a spring. Do you know what column you have exactly?
