'57 GMC Palamino
I don't come here real often because I don't have any of these trucks these days. I still look and read when I have time. anyway, I don't know if this truck has ever been discussed, but I've wanted to do a thread on it since before the board got split up. It just crossed my mind again so here it is:
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...O95xL4ASU_dxww I learned about this truck from that article and fell n love. This would be my Holy Grail pickup... Ya think?

Re: '57 GMC Palamino
Wow, that's some truck, and some story. I've never heard of these, but if Chevy did the Cameo, why wouldnt GMC do something similar. I wonder if these were ever offered in production? Or was it only for the Chicago truck show?

Re: '57 GMC Palamino
Who WOULDN'T want one of these?
Here's another image of the same truck. If you can't read the article (in the image) it reads: 1957 GMC Palomino Pickup The Palomino pickup above is a one-of-a-kind truck created by GMC for use in various automobile shows. A unique feature on this gem is the two-tone leather interior, which includes seats, door panels, armrests and the steering wheel. A 347-CID 175-HP Pontiac V8 engine powers the truck.

Re: '57 GMC Palamino
Nice but it doesn't seem like it'd be that hard to copy if you really wanted it. The cast piece on the bed would be the mostly costly item but I'm sure the talented guys here could figure out a way to duplicate it.

Being a Cameo owner i really like it!
I have seen this truck posted before, but just noticed there is a kick Plate inside the the lower step area that i had not noticed before, would be fun to see the whole truck in person. Allen |

Re: '57 GMC Palamino
The article was written by the previous owner, who said he sold it to a private collector who did not want his name disclosed or to be contacted. So we wait until he dies and the heirs decide to unload it....

Re: '57 GMC Palamino
Hey Dan, I was thinking a duplicate would be cool...and possible. And the special emblem would be a hang-up, for being exact. I am sure it's still around. It would be something special to be able to look it over

Re: '57 GMC Palamino
I still know a guy that has an early Rochester fuel injection unit for a Pontiac. It would be killer deal on this truck. It was on an old GMC truck being used for a wrecking yard boom truck back in the 70s and 80s. It looked just like a Chevy Vette unit except it fit a Pontiac V-8.
Same guy has an 87 Regal GN that's never been driven. Never been dealer prepped. Probably all dried out by now. Been parked in a 40 ft van trailer in AZ all these years. |

It's not like anyone know what it's SUPPOSED to look like. If you could get close it'd probably be fine since it's a replica anyway.

Re: '57 GMC Palamino
That's a very cool truck and a cool story too! It definitely would be cool if some one built one like it. I'm sure a lot of truck people never knew about it.
