Best option for 5" rear drop; all spring or spring and blocks?
So I am dropping my rear 5" to accommodate my 3.5" front drop. What is the preferred method, all spring or a combination of spring and blocks?
I see some blocks have angle built into them for the pinion angle as well. I have the CPP tubular trailing arms already as well, just looking to move forward with this portion of the rolling chassis. thanks |

the more spring drop, the stiffer the ride will be. so ideally you would throw some blocks in there too, even though it costs a bit more. if you have 15" wheels you will not want more than 1.5" drop blocks, or you'll have scrub line issues. that's assuming the cpp arms are the same height as stock, but i'm not sure if that's true.

4" spring + 1" block
do you have the cpp center support for the trailing arms? If not, you might need to shim the axle. And even if you do (like myself) you still want to check.

I'd do all spring. I don't like the trailing arms hanging down so low and if you buy quality drop springs they are made to carry the truck and ride well at that ride level. I've never needed to shim at 6" all spring

using degree shims to make sure your pinion angle is 1-2* parallel with the output on the trans.
Do you know what degree everything is at? Curious...
