Power windows or not?

im on the fence here. My current truck has roll up windows and no power locks and I'm happy with the simplicity.

On my AD truck I was planning on running power locks and Windows. I already bought autoloc switch that mounts in behind and uses the stock handle plus some fancy conduit. Got the Altman kit.

I just can't get myself to drill holes for wiring. I know it's not a big deal but Ive been contemplating just going with manual operation. What bugs me is the Altman kit won't allow locking from the interior. Maybe I can custom make some kind of mechanism I think I've read someone doing that on here.

New plan is manual operation with Altman kit. Rig up some kind of mechanism to allow manual locking from interior. And add a key to driver side. Is this a good plan just looking for some feedback. I want to keep things simple. Here is what I got and probably won't use

Will get the doors in shortly, I had some problems with locks in the past,
Altman sells also a bracket for aftermarket actuator locks, thought about buying that option.

I got the altman set, and the brackets for the locks.
Only need the time to install it

I have PW in my 56 and love them. The unit I used is from Summit but after purchasing a cheep system (that failed right away) I went with a better setup and the works perfect. I did install PW switches as it is good to be able to open the passengers window from the drivers side.

I used the one piece PW kit from Brothers. Flawless but look a little funky going up and down, but that's a 55+ and later problem.

Have to say, those are some SLICK arm rests and they complement those handles really well. Here's my take. The little notch on the side is my manual lock for the Altman set up.

Hey Speedbump, was that an aftermarket piece at the bottom of the panel (speaker area) or something you fabbed up?

if you're happy with the simplicity, then keep the roll up windows
i like the fact i can roll the pass window down, my initial thought was power pass window only
i have both powered and like it, they are not without fault and can occassionally fall off the track
i went one piece in my 58 after i realized how bad my vent window hardware was

I decided against power windows. They are relatively easy to roll up, and it's an easy reach to the pass. side to roll that one down (at least if you do it before you start going down the road).With all of todays "modern" conveniences, I kind of like the novelty of crank windows.

I have the altman latches and lock actuator brackets. The latch install went pretty well. The brackets were a little trickier. Not much room in there to work. After I got the power locks in and working I realized the pass side bracket interfered with the window as I rolled it down. The directions said to bend the bracket for adjustment. I was worried with such a tight fit the window may rattle against the bracket while driving with the window rolled down. I removed the pass side bracket and pulled the fuse for the locks. I never really go anywhere with my truck that I feel the need to lock it. I have an electric fuel pump with a shut off switch hidden in the cab. That's my anti-theft.

it was my idea but I gave it to a REAL upholsterer so it would meet my expectations and it does. Thanks.
