Starting my 65 C10 Build... Need parts/info/input/ect??
Hey Guys,
Newbie here, just starting my build now that i saved up a few extra coin. Kinda going for a budget build in time for my wedding in June. But i have a bit of learning/work to do to get there. I also get to do this while sitting down the hole time so it should get interesting. (had a bit of an accident that left me in a chair but i got skills i have a good platform to start from, basically a stock 65... except the motor, grill, rims & paint. maybe the wiring harness, interior ect.. Truck as it sits; 65 c10 Motor- Caddie 8.2 500ci Rest is stock To Do List; Motor Mounts (current ones are a joke (HSS1/2"x3"x1/8" stacked 5-6 high, lol need to draw and make a new set since i'm sure they don't make it) Power brakes Disk Brakes w/ drop spindles (hope to buy in a set) Power steering Air Ride Maybe Relocate Gas Tank Little Electrical Issue (blinker draw) C Notch Frame maybe?...(trying to sit the frame without loosing so much bed, i still wanna use the bed but be able to get in it easy) design hand controls since current sets don't really work on this year besides the portable sets.. Also all the little things that go with each item & little issues.. (brake/steering/fuel lines, brackets, carb, wheels/rims, gaskets(exhaust manifold, tranny are leaking oil(little weird for the exhaust tho) Future work; Paint Interior Relocate Gas Tank Bed Found this deal so far; Front Disk Brakes/Spindles http://www.ebay.com/itm/63-70-CHEVY-...1V15Rn&vxp=mtr Anyone got any input? Air ride, got any tips? What rims will work with disk/drop spindles? Motor Mounts? Converting the Caddie power steering pump with Chevy box? Last edited by Local29; 11-21-2015 at 01:29 AM. |

If you haven't already figured this out, if you have a Caddy power steering pump that is on the motor, just convert to a power steering gear box and buy some hoses to plumb them together. Should work like a champ.

Yeah that's what i figured.. my only worry was/is if the fittings are the same size but just ordered the hoses for the c10 box, so i will find out soon!!!. If not I'm sure they make a adapter fitting or something..
