Approximate height-size of dash near radio area?

Hey all,

Does anyone know the approximate height of the dash, near the radio/ash tray area. I know it's considered by some to be sacrilege, but as part of my build I'm integrating newer tech into the ride, and the plan is to include a 10" tablet for the radio/navigation.

The dimensions of the tablet are actually 9.34" wide X 6.65" tall. I'm not near my truck for a bit, and have a limited window of time to order one as I have a $200 off credit that expires soon. Looking to see if 6.65" can be accommodated in the height of the dash, or if it's too tall to fit without adding metal.

Thanks all!

Yeah yeah I get it's not everyone's cup of tea, but we have to acknowledge that there is a faction of people in this hobby that aren't interested in totally preserving the past. I love the lines of the old trucks, but also love some of the comforts and technology in new vehicles.

How many vehicles do people have (even here on this forum) that sit and nothing ever gets done with them, aside from letting them rot? Not sure that's any better than me actually doing something with mine, even if it's not keeping it a pure representation of its original form.

I'm not going to implement anything half-ass. Check out my build. While I'm no pro I think you'll see I do aim for quality.

Hi Siggy I just measured mine. It's 6.5 from the top to the bottom of the radio indentation and 7.75" to the bottom of the glove box. It's your truck go ahead and cut.
