Poly mount?

Should I run poly inserts on my clam shell mounts? I searched and some guys don't like them. Some guys say the other rubber replacement fall apart so poly is the only ones that hold up

Re: Poly mount?

Yes, I would go poly...(Did that)/ they will have a little more vibe @ idle speed, vs the rubber parts, but they do hold up Longhorn

Re: Poly mount?

My rubber sbc mounts didn't like 400+hp and any age at all. I ran them for a couple years but the engine had far more movement than I would have been comfortable out on the track. I swapped out for poly mounts and like the change.

The poly mounts don't vibrate all that much more than the rubbers. If your making good power, then rubber mounts will wear and vibrate a good amount, so the poly change might not be that noticeable at all.

My 4l80e stock mount has held well tho, at least so far, ~5 years.
