headlight buzzer?

Was there a optional headlight buzzer to let you know you left your lights on or is there a simple way to wire one in? After reminding my wife to pay attention to her lights on the 2003 Honda I went and did the same thing to my truck. It was daylight but raining and I forgot I had them on because it was bright out. Was able to get a quick jump start from my charger to get to work but I was thinking there has to be some buzzer option out there.

gm part number 19245591 seat belt/light buzzer. 7 connectors on the back side to plug in under the dash near or above the fuse block. About 2" wide and 3 1/2" tall by 3 1/2" deep.
I just got one last November from work (GM DEALERSHIP) for my 87 CCD.

Any 12 volt buzzer will work. If it is polarized (+ and -) hook the - to a switched 12 volt source and the + to the dash lighting (easy to get off the fuse panel, or from the radio wiring harness). If it is a non polarized buzzer, get a diode;

switched 12volt -----|<------buzzer---- lighting circuit.


With the lights off, engine on, the buzzer is wired in reverse and will be quiet. If you turn on the lights, both sides of the buzzer are the same polarity and it will be quiet. If you turn off the engine, the switched 12volts becomes your ground path and the buzzer will sound until you turn off your lights. Also handy to add to car that only sound the headlight buzzer when you open the door and it gets drowned out in ambient noise.

Cool, Thanks guys. I do have the seatbelt buzzer but it goes out before I even buckle up, lol.

Alex, good info there. Seems like the easiest way to accomplish this. might even be able to rig one up for my wifes Honda too, lol

Thanks. I dont have a Napa store near by so hopefully Autozone can cross reference it. Maybe I can order it online from Napa.

EDIT- Yep available online and after googling the number I found several forums talking about them including this one. super easy to install. For $7.00 online it`s worth the money. Just need to figure out how I can make it work on my wifes Honda with chip fuses.

Change the power wire to the headlights so they go off with the key.

For $7 Ill add the buzzer. I dont want to change the factory wiring.

It comes with clips to attach to either style fuse, so you're good.

EDIT: I forgot about the small blade fuses, you'll have to figure a way for those.
