TH400 Leak

Hey Guys,

I have a TH400. I have a transmission leak that looks to be coming from the Speedo Cable sending unit... Does anyone know if this is just an O-ring problem or how to fix it?

Re: TH400 Leak

it will have an oring on the outer part of the housing and a seal were the gear comes through the housing. Either one of those could be leaking.

Check to make sure the speedo gear itself isn't hallow all the way through.

Not to high jack but, this might help the OP. Does anyone have part numbers for these O rings or know where to buy them?

Re: TH400 Leak

Gm part number for the inner was 1240382 and the outer I believe is a 15562374. Not sure if they are still available from gm or not.

Re: TH400 Leak

Wow. Thanks guys! You are all awesome! I'll check and see if I cant get manufactured O-Rings. If not, I'll figure something else out. I really appreciate your willingness to help to the extent of even getting me part numbers!
