Sbc motor mounts
Sure hope this isn't a dumb question... But can you convert from the clam shell motor mounts to the pedestal style mount? My 57 has a second gen camaro sub frame

Re: Sbc motor mounts
I dont think so, but it depends on what you mean by clamshell and what you mean by pedestal. I think of clamshell as the three piece mount with the rubber either bonded or floating, and I think pedestal as the 1/2" diameter tube on a stand. If thats what you mean, no, because the rubber would be ancillary and it would be a solid mount, plus the tube of the pedestal mount isnt long enough for the clamshell.
but if you are describing a pedestal like this http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Univer...unts,1905.html you just need a couple mounts like this http://www.speedwaymotors.com/3-Bolt...k-V8,7959.html I got the pedestal mounts from speedway but the rubber mounts from oreilleys for like 10 bucks.

Re: Sbc motor mounts
make your own for a tenth of what those cost
these are what i fabbed in truk, i may have $5 in them or use a grinder and some 10 gauge steel to make something like these another simple set using square tube
