82 Chevy 3/4 Throttle Bracket issue with Edelbrock 2701 and 1406 carb.
I put a 350 (RV cam) in my 82 Chevy 3/4 4x4 Truck (had been a diesel at one time), so brakes are Hydraulic....not vacuum.
I put a new Edelbrock 2701 Intake manifold and 1406 600 Carb on the truck. I also added 62 corvette (reproduction) Ram horn exhaust with 2.5" collectors, Mini Remy Gold gear reduction starter. The existing Throttle bracket will not work. Could use some help. 1. Does anyone have a suggestion for the throttle bracket? 2. My throttle cable is 2 - 2.5 inches to long. Never replaced one do they come in different lengths. 3. any Tips for this setup..... Thank you |

Can you post a picture of what you have going on? You may need the edelbrock throttle bracket. There's a few different ones you can get.

When you say throttle bracket do you mean where the end of the cable mounts? Or the return spring bracket? Or what?
I have a similar setup and ended up using a piece of steel strap to make a return spring bracket, wasn't too hard.

Re: 82 Chevy 3/4 Throttle Bracket issue with Edelbrock 2701 and 1406 carb.
This truck of mine is not in my shop but 50 miles away....went to the motor. I had the bracket and since not in my (home shop) with all my stuff.. I tried a couple things with the resources at hand that did not work and ruined the bracket. I have ordered another bracket on Ebay and I know exactly what I will do. I will cut the bracket right in half at the top of the arch. Form a metal strap and rivet each end twice to complete the new arch. I have an air riveter, steel and stainless steel Rivets. I will post picks because edelbrocks brackets are a joke. I want to help others and this is easy.....
Thank you all for your help......I might need more. Bracket shipped and I should have on Friday. |
