Getting closer to solving oil leak...
Well, I got out under the hood for a really short while this weekend. I think I've got this leak narrowed down. It's wettest just to the rear of the plug/bolt in the hole in the block just above the oil filter. Some applications use it as an oil pressure sender location, mine does not in its stock configuration.
So, my question is: is this bolt just a standard threaded bolt or does is have a little rubber O-ring gasket as well? I'll get around to pulling it sooner or later to find out, but just thought I'd ask. Any ideas as to sealing it up a little tighter-- silicone on the bolt threads? I want to be a little cautious here and not introduce anything to block up any oil passages in the block. Thanks! Kevin 1986 Suburban (C10 Silverado) 350 cu.in. SBC in stock trim

I'm pretty sure it's a pipe thread. Use some silicone thread tape on it.
