'69 K10 PS lines
Last week, I was driving home from work when one of my PS lines blew. I finally had time to investigate today, and found a hole in the steel part of what I assume is the low-pressure, return hose--I assume so because the rubber is clamped onto the steel on both ends rather than having the formed connections on the other hose. Rubber is in good shape, so I just need to replace the steel end.
What's a good source for something like this? All my searches at regular parts houses turn up generic rubber line, but it's the steel part I need.

Re: '69 K10 PS lines
Since you just need to form a section of line and you have the fittings it shouldn't be an issue making or having a replacement made. Since its the steel line it sounds like a rub through of some sort. Make sure you correct that too.
If you must have a bolt on part look in the classifed section for used PS lines or post a WTB, want to buy, (after becoming a subscriber) ad of your own. Or simply pull the section in question and hit the yards for a workable match to your in hand sample.

Re: '69 K10 PS lines
I think we bought this from jegs for the high pressure. Fit well and seemed to be bent similar to oem. We had a different fitting put on it to work with a different power steering pump, but it bolted up to the oem gear box no problems.

They looked up a few different model and year trucks before finding the part number http://www.jegs.com/i/Gates/465/353250/10002/-1 |

Junkyard. I saw 3 of them last week at a yard near me. These were 2WD trucks, but they are may be the same as the 4WD.

Re: '69 K10 PS lines
Unfortunately, none of the yards within 100 miles of me will do anything but pull these trucks straight to the crusher. But salvage is still a good idea; I'll have to some looking around further away. Having the piece made is a good idea, too. I can't do it myself because my flare tools won't do steel, but maybe a local parts house can.
Still, I appreciate all the ideas.

Re: '69 K10 PS lines
Thanks for that, pickupman; I didn't see your post till after the fact.
I found the part at LMC and ordered it. It was here in just a couple days, and I put it on today. The bend was not exactly the same as the stock, but it was close, and putting it one was not real trouble. I did bugger up the clamp, so I had to replace it with one on hand. I got the system bled easily following the manual; test drive tomorrow. Additional note: GMC Paul also carries the part. Now I know.
