Thrmostat housing question
On my thrmostat housing there is a tree screwed into the top will three little pipe fitings with nothing on them what are they?

THOSE ARE.....
temp. controlled vacuum ports.... one would be vacuum in.... the other two would be.....temp. operated vacuum out... carb air cleaner flapper preheat door... egr valve..... the list goes on.... do you need emissions in your area???? how does it start cold???? might want to buy a manual for your truck...it will have a vacuum line picture so you can get it all hooked back up....if wanted |

Those are for vacuum lines you once may have had from the factory. Most of us just replace the housing itself with a new one along with a new thermostat itself while you're there.

should they be capped with a line cover thing so they do not leak vac or since I have no vac in should be no problem right? No emission in may area.

With no vacuum supplying then you're fine.

it won't affec your performance running without them hooked up as they are just thermal switches. I gotta swap mine out tonight, I broke one of the studs off mine, doh!
