Upgrades/conversions before LS swap
Hey guys! Recently purchased a 50 3100. I've been compiling my goal list of what i'd like to do to the truck. The end (read: far out) goal is LS swap with Mustang 2 front. It runs as of now and I'd like to keep the downtime to a minimum. My question is this as I haven't really answered it in my research...
I would eventually like discs in the front, power steering and power brakes. For now, to keep the truck on the road as long as possible, is there a dual master cylinder I could use that would work with drum drum then disk drum? Also any other conversions/upgrades you could think for safety/modernization? I am going to piece together the mustang 2 IFS and buy wheels/tires accordingly. I did see the 12 volt conversion which is definitely on my list. Also I'd like to keep the master under the floor. Thanks! Last edited by stealthtt24; 04-30-2016 at 05:15 AM. |

Re: Upgrades/conversions before LS swap
I found Brothers Trucks kit here which would be perfect. My question is then... whats the difference in the drum drum and the disc drum set? Just a proportioning valve?

Re: Upgrades/conversions before LS swap
The disc disc master does not have a check valve installed in the bottom of the master. but the disc drum ones do. Since the springs on the brakes of a drum brake pull the shoes away from the drum, there is a 10 PSI check valve already in the master cyl.
