Blazer rear floor question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

OK so I am finally back to work on one of my blazers. I bought a floor and in the process of getting it stripped down I have run into a question that hoping somebody knows before I cost myself extra work. The body bolts on the rear most cross member, the steel tubes that the bolt goes through in the mount, are they a part of the mount or are my bolts so rusted that they are all just stuck together? I want to cut the steel tubes out if they are not actually part of the sheet metal mount but will attempt punching out the rest of the bolt if they are part of it. I have attached a picture

The metal tubes are a separate part. It it the bolt, the bushing and the.metal sleeve. Mine rusted into one cohesive part and I cut mine out and replaced with all new parts. Make sure your replacement bushing kit has all the parts you need to button it back up.

Replacing the bushings can be a pain, but it's worth it.

I think the tube in the second picture is part of the mount that is not removable. If you saw the bolt off under the bodymount the bolt may knock loose easier. I think I have just that piece I will get a picture and post.

I am glad they ran some bolts up through the bottom of all the seat and spare tire stand nuts. I assume whoever had the blazer stuck them in there to keep the road grime from coming up in the back. It saved all the nuts in the floor. There are one or two that the bolts are broke of in but I can get them out pretty easy. Started cutting and patching today. Thanks again for bringing it down with you.

Yea I don't know why they did it but glad it helped. If you check for my postings that was the blazer that had the hickey flipping rear seat option so they must have installed the bolts then. Wonder if that was a recommendation in the instructions to install the flip kit that would be interesting to find out. LOL
