4x4 tranny question
I have a 1971 K20 4x4 with a TH350 and NP205. Are the 4x4 trannys short shaft? and 2wd long shaft?

The shaft and tail housing are different,To swap out the shaft you almost gotta rebuilt it to do so.

Re: 4x4 tranny question
I think short and long are used with 2wd TH350s. The 4wds do not have a shaft since they have an adapter for the transfer case.

Re: 4x4 tranny question
The 4x4 has no tail housing, the trany bolts directly to the 4x4 adapter. It does use a shaft but it's specific to the 4x4's. It's much shorter.
