Help with a static drop please
Guys I know there are about 5,000 write ups on this already. I got dizzy sitting here reading them. I need a couple of questions answered. To start I'm working with a 63 C10.
My first question is in the rear. I did 5" CPP lowering springs and the shorter shocks that came with the kit. I'm sitting maybe 2" from the bump stops back there. Does anyone cut them down or remove them? The next question is with the panhard bar. I've read conflicting data on whether it has to be altered or replaced. Does it? On the front.. When I pulled the factory springs, each one had a broken half coil laying in the bottom. I cut another full coil out of each one with intentions of replacing them. Just wanted to see. I have 2.5" drop spindles on the way. I want to know what the shortest spring I can install without many issues. And do you guys remove the stops? Right now with the coil and a half missing, it's sitting lightly on the stops. Basically I need to know what do I do about panhard if anything, and what's the lowest spring in the front I need to buy with the drop spindles. Thanks guys

Don't look at the tires in the picture haha scary....or the dirty old frame. It has new 235 75 15's on it now with the skinny white wall. Frame is getting prepped for POR15

Super Track Bar Kits You can also go through this page and find a bump stop type you like. http://www.aftermarketsuspensionpart...bump-stops.asp CPP has a C-Notch kit and they use this type of bump stop on their kit: http://www.aftermarketsuspensionparts.com/9.9102

Re: Help with a static drop please
Thanks for the reply! Reading through the first link you sent looks like if you lower the rear MORE than 5" you need to shorten the bar. I guess I just have to and some measurements and see if the axle is still centered. Still need some info on the front

Re: Help with a static drop please
I have 2.5" drop spindles with 2" lowering springs on the front of mine. Here's a picture for reference.

Re: Help with a static drop please
With the drop spindles you will need a 2" drop spring to get you about where you are now with the ride height. On the rear I second the super track bar. You did not mention shock relocators on the rear. If you have not done those they are a big help in getting the shock angles corrected. O just cut my bumps stops off front and rear leaving about a 1/2" of rubber.
