Here is the controller mounted. It has LED's on the left to tell you what is working.

Re: This fuse blows!... and so does HF!
Well the circuit break seems to do its thing but is at the point that it needs to cool down for 10 mins before resetting. I'm close to just throwing the mechanical back on for now but I'm wondering why I don't just follow Derale's instructions, which would be to remove the circuit breaker or fuse (the one that's blowing) between the battery and the relay. There is a fuse between the relay and the fan. Am I missing something?
Derale instructions ---

Re: This fuse blows!... and so does HF!
I just might get the village idiot award, MIGHT I said! I'm in the middle of rewiring the lot with heavier gauge wire, bigger circuit breaker, bigger relay, etc. and was doing some reading on a forum where somebody was wiring up one of the Taurus fans and I stopped when I read, "the blue is our ground wire and the black is power wire." I know it's from a F*^d and my fan is from a Jeep, but let's just say they are color coded the same.... does anybody know if you can reverse the polarity on the Cherokee fan?? Mine definitely pulls with the blue wire connected as hot and the black as ground.
71meangreenc10, how do you have yours connected?

Re: This fuse blows!... and so does HF!
update... charges dropped - appears I'm not an idiot for mixing up the wires. Apparently you can reverse the polarity just by swapping the wires with no ill effect (well at least for the few seconds I tried!).
So I updated to bigger wire, a new temp sensor, a 40A relay, and a 40A circuit breaker. Running great now, keeping the temps lower than before as well. Thanks for all your input!
