88 V10 Suburban problems

I have an 88 V10 Sub, Silverado, with the 350 TBI, 700r4 trans. I've already replaced the disributor, rotor, cap, wire, plugs, ECM, fuel pump, fuel relay, starter, battery, cables, radiator, water pump, thermostat. When I drive at highway speeds and slow down it stalls out, then will stall every time I slow down. I've heard of the 700 having a TCC problem, how do I check that? Is there anything else I can check? Pictures help. Thanks.

Welcome to the board!

If the transmission torque converter was staying locked, it will cause a stall, but not until the vehicle comes to a stop, or nearly stopped. Slowing down, it would not cause the engine to die.

It sounds like your vehicle could have an EGR valve that is sticking open. Disconnect and plug the vacuum hose going to the EGR valve and take it on a test drive and see if the problem goes away. Driving without the EGR working will set a trouble code if you drive it long enough that way.

What's an EGR? And how do I check it? I'm not a gear head lol, I learn things as they break.

I'm replacing my EGR valve, seloniod, and the thermal vacuum switch. My question is on the seloniod the side that connects to the EGR valve is empty, is there anything that is suppose to connect there or do I need to cap it?

Sorry I wasn't very clear, the side that connects to the EGR valve has two stems, the bottom one goes to the EGR and the top is just open. Does that top one need capped?

It's a vent, don't cap it off.

GM-power is correct.

Do not cap the vent port.

Make sure you put the hose on the correct port.
