MOTOR MOUNTS - I6 to V8

Getting ready to change out the I6 to a 283 in my sons truck.

I've read that the motor mounts that are currently in the truck will work fine. Correct?

My question is what mount do I need that attach the truck mounts to the mounts that actually attach to the motor?

Also, are there any other issues that I will need to think about with this swap? I'm assuming that the drive shaft length may be an issue. Anything else?

Thanks

It depends what straight six it has, if it's a 230 then yes but if it's a 292 then you will need to change the passenger side mount

if it is a 230/250 you have everthing there already. the insulator(rubber mount )bolts directly to the block
the 292 has a different perch. the piece that bolts to the frams and xmember

the throttle bellcrank that come thru the firewall has a different nengine side lever too

It has a 250, although it's NOT the original motor. I have no ideas what the original motor was. The side mounts that's affixed to the motor now 'look' way too tall. They 'look' liked thay'd hit the headers on the 283

Any idea if the driveshaft will need to be shortened/lengthened?

Re: MOTOR MOUNTS - I6 to V8

The I6's have a bracket between the engine mount and the block. Remove those and bolt the engine mounts directly to the small block. It is all very simple.

If you are asking which rubberized mount to use, I used

Auto Extra 2282.
