72 K10 Can't U-turn (pics)
When I got this truck the drag link was out of wack, looks like it was replaced. I tried adjusting it until the pitman arm is about 90 degrees to the chassis and the mark on the column is at 12:00 o'clock. The mark ended up at 6:00 right now. It steers 2 full turns each way like this. I can't do a u-turn without doing a 3 point turn though. I think it has a small lift kit because of the poly bushings, I can't tell how much. The center of the front hub measure 25" to the bottom of the fender lip. I don't know what angle the drag link should be at either, maybe I need a raised arm or something. Any thoughts?

When you turn all the way left or right are the wheels hitting the stops or not? If they hit the stops that's just all she wrote.

It does look like a 2 1/2" lift with the stock steering arm. That should be fine with that setup. If you go to the lifted arm which has 4" correction you wind up an 1 1/2" off the OTHER way.
Be interesting to see what you find. It may be that someone adjusted the stops because they had a tall tire with a near zero offset rim and they hit the springs turning so they adjusted that out.

I didn't think about stops. I'll check that out.

you can purchase a drop pitman arm to level out the drag link, these truck are real finicky about the drag link angle-they like it to be flat.

Re: 72 K10 Can't U-turn (pics)
The stops look like they don't come near hitting on both left and right sides. I don't see what's stopping it. Made me think maybe the steering stabilizer is limiting movement so I loosened the 3 u-bolts but it didn't seem to matter. The pics show it steered all the way to the left, then right.

If all that had been mentioned before checks out, I'd in bolt the drag link from the pitman and make sure the box will go more than two turns in either direction.

Yeah I'll unbolt the pitman arm to check the box and jack the wheels off the ground to double check the range of movement while it's disconnected.

Re: 72 K10 Can't U-turn (pics)
That's definitely the best place to start.
