aiming headlights
I have a 72 C-10 and need to aim the headlights. I used to watch my Dad back in the 50s aim them against the garage door. Is there a better more accurate way? any ideas will be appreciated.
Bill

Re: aiming headlights
Park on an empty road at night, cover one side, adjust the other

Re: aiming headlights
The Hoppy. Hard to find, don't think they're made anymore, now that no two cars have the same headlights. But back when we all had the standard round or square, this was it:

Re: aiming headlights
Anyone know how accurate they are? I wouldn't mind having one but don't want to shell out $50 for a vintage unit if they merely get you close, since I can get close without it. But if it zeros them in accurately and tightly, that'd be great.

Here is an alternative method that doesn't require any tools other than a screwdriver and a roll of tape. I used this method and it worked fine. http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars.../a257/1347221/
