School me on 700r4s what fits a 90 suburban.

I'm buying a pretty clean 90 4x4 1500 suburban (squarebody) I originally was just going to pick it up for the mint set of doors it has on it to put onto my crew cab but it looks like to nice of a truck to scrap after I Rob the doors. The doors on my crew are decent enough that I can still use them on the suburban so I'm still going to swap them but I may throw a trans in the suburban anyway and eaither give it to my grandfather or keep it until I can track down a reasonably priced crew cab k30 to buy. I've probally driven 1500 miles the last couple weeks trying to hunt one down. I'm getting the suburban for 400 bucks it's a 350 tbi I'm assuming 700r4 trans that is bad. It's a half ton 4x4 and very much stock and in good shape for this area. My question is what year trucks trans will work in this suburban? My buddy has a blown up early to mid 90s 1500 4x4 I'm sure I Gould grab the tranny out of for free. How do I tell if this is the 700r4 or the computer controlled 4l60e? If it's a 700 will my transfer case still fit it or should I grab that as well? Thanks for the help.

My knowledge is, tv cable and cable speedo=700r4, tv cable and electric speedo=4l60, all electric, no tv cable=4l60e

700r4 also will have 4 pin square elec.connetor on L.H side of trans. 4l60 is a bigger round connector always on r.h. Side of trans . I believe 700 r4 was used from 84-92 possibly 93. Anything newer than 93 is definitely 4l60 easy to tell by the elec . Connectors tho.

I don't know all the details, but I know the 700R4 and NP241 transfer case combo came with cable speedo in 89, but the exact same combination had an electric speedo in 90, so it's very possible to have an electric speedo with the 700R4.

Thanks guys. I'm gona go check my buddy's trans tomorrow it's free so if it will work I'll throw it in just to help it sell. My driveway is to full to keep it. Just got it home today I'm just gona steal the completely rust and dent free doors off it for my crew cab. I might try to grab the roof rack front and rear hitches and the rear air conditioning setup to use on a future truck. I'm into it for 400 and I drove it home in 2nd gear. it slips in drive and overdrive.
