clutch pedal design ?
Curious. Do all clutch pedals for this era of truck look like the one in this picture. Has a spring on the side of the pedal up to a bracket on the top of the pedal housing ? Seems I have one that isn't like this or it has been pieced together. Mine has a spring from the hole in the top of the clutch pedal to the housing and the top bracket is different shape.
Thx.

Here are the two different configurations in the same picture. I don't know when it changed but my '67 has the smaller one that angles toward the firewall and my '72 has the larger spring that goes to the center of the pedal arm. LockDoc

Re: clutch pedal design ?
Ahh Thanks. Yes I have the smaller spring back towards the firewall but I had bought it second hand for a manual swap. That is why I was wondering.

Re: clutch pedal design ?
Be *REAL* careful futzing around with that assembly. Many years ago, I was pulling mine out, and the pedal arm got tapped, and the spring pulled it up over-center and lopped off the end of my finger in the process. That spring is No-$#!+ serious.

HOLY FORKING SHEEP! I can see after you describing it, it would be a perfect shear. I will make sure to advise my son of that possibility, as he is starting his first manual truck.
