yea flux core isnt really good for thin stuff, I could do some exhaust, but it wasnt good for much thinner than that. also as someone said , Slow down your wire and turn up the heat a bit, your welds are pretty cold. Practice to get a feel for how hot you can go before burning through and then back off and speed up the gun a bit .
Kinda like this, This was flux core on the same machine

If I remember they are take outs from Honda Odysseys; Vans get converted to wheelchair accessible rigs and so the middle seats come out and get sold to guys like us.

Re: New Seats For An Old Suburban

I have all 6 Honda seats in my crew. We cut the hump in the front down a little and did nothing in the back. We did it differently. All my seats still flip up as there are now hoops in my floor for the seats to click into. If someone will post the pics, I would send them from my phone.

With my seats now I can remove each one of them with the flip of one lever.

Re: New Seats For An Old Suburban

The next to last pic shows the loops welded into the floor. I have a pic of the floor before the lizard skin. The second pic shows the seat flipped up. From there just lift off the front loops and remove seat from the cab. The next pic down show how the loops stick out thru the carpet.

The first pic is sot of the truck as it sits now. Last pic is the gril I repainted. Thanks Gmachinz It is a nice grill.

The only complaint I have is it is tight getting a foot between the B pillar and the front of the rear seat. After you get in there is plenty of room. As a side not all 6 seats slide forward and back, but the bottoms do not have any tilt so you have to set them the way you want before welding.

Re: New Seats For An Old Suburban

I have seen a lot more of his pics and the way his seat anchors were integrated into the floor is absolutely KILLER!
