levelling

The 3/4 ton spring kit on my '72 included a 4" lift. If I do an axle flip up front, will it look level?

you can't simply move it to a spring under setup....the spring pad is cast into the top of the differential housing and you would have to fabricate (or buy) a bracket that would allow the spring to locate on the axle adjacent to, and underneath the differential housing.

I was thinking an axle flip like that which is common for the rear axle. Hadn't thought of the offset diff. Still, a flip kit shoukd work, maybe with minor adjustment to the one side... I guess my question is exactly how much woukd it bring the front end down?

I went out to my shop and looked at an extra 44 front axle I have waiting to be rebuilt....the pics show the spring mount configuration top and bottom. I suppose the bottom could be milled off close to flat and then a custom bracket could be added.....
another thought I had though was....you may run into some clearance and steering issues if you move the diff up that high.... the driver side is no problem...just cut the spring pad off and move it to the other side..

See how much higher the front is? Trying to eliminate that. Keeping in mind there's 4" of lift and the front fenders are cut higher than the backs...

hate to say it........but it's gonna be a lot easier to swap to a lower spring up front if you don't want the rear any higher.....it will settle a little after the springs have been on awhile, but I doubt that much....

Anything less won't be 3/4 ton, though. It was a LOT lower when I bought it 18 years ago. The front springs were arched the ither way, prompting me to replace them all. I feel a flip would eat up the 4" lift and make the height stock but still 3/4 ton. What's the diameter of the axle?

Remove one or two leaves out of the front spring packs, or add lift blocks to the rear.

Blocks would be the easy answer, but compound the problem because it is already too tall!

...more is better? Certainly want matched front and rear. I've had that setup most of the time I've owned the thing.
