What a difference!
Finally finished my steering column and power steering install.
For city driving, power steering is a must! Makes the truck much more liveable now.

Had to get another steering wheel for this column. I was wanting
to retain the original wheel, but the newer columns aren't compatible. Oh well, I have tilt and there's no more mushy non-cancelling turn signals now.

Hey Hafton, what column did you use, if you don't mind me asking? Also, I assume you either have an auto tranny or a floor shifter for the manual. Thanks.

Putter, it is a floor shift. I still don't know what the column was originally from. I pulled it
out of a '72 chevy truck at a salvage, but have not been able to positive ID it. You're better off getting one that is known to work, because of the time & frustration involved in making one work like I did is probably not worth going thru for most people

Power steering is a great upgrade. I fought 35" tires for about a year before making that upgrade. Sure is nice.

35's wow, I've got 31's and tried to park where I'd have a straight shot out
when leaving - without backing up. I've also hit a curb or two because I was going to fast / trying to make too tight a turn with that manual gear box :p

Thanks Hafton. I'll just keep looking 'til I see something that'll work.
