Do you have the old shoes or drums? If you do you should be able to call Lordco and get a hand. I have had to do this in the past. As long as you have some measurements they can get you what you need.

Re: HELP 65 chevy c10 rear brakes
It sounds like you may actually have a GMC if you have a Dana 44 and leaf springs in the rear? Or is that option a Canadian thing on the Chevy's? If so, there is a thread here all about one members quest to find new brake drums that may shed some light on your need for brake parts.
Here is that thread. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...=Dana+44+drums

Re: HELP 65 chevy c10 rear brakes
Not sure if it was a Canadian thing but up here gmc with coil springs was an option and leafs on the Chevy was also an option. I didn't know that for years and thought it was just another way to tell them apart. The first leaf sprung Chevy I came across I thought something screwy was going on. You never know when it comes to some of these old trucks and the PO. Lol! I've had to work through this with a couple old truck I had. If you get the right parts guy behind the counter you can get what you need. Some of these guys don't have a clue I've gone into parts stores with part numbers and some guys can't find it. Another visit with the right guy and your walking out with the part. Go figure!

Re: HELP 65 chevy c10 rear brakes
Captain would probably have a better idea on some of that stuff. I've never swapped backing plates on any of mine. I swapped my 6 bolt rearend to one out of a 72. It gave me the 5 bolt rear axles. I also used the front cross member from the same truck. That gave me disc up front and a sway bar. It worked very well. With the exception of rounding out a couple holes and drilling a couple more for the motor mount arms, it is pretty much a bolt on kind of thing. Couldn't believe how easy it really was. As far as brakes go. I didn't have any trouble finding all the replacement parts. Aka. Wheel cylinders, adjusters, spring packages, shoes for rear, e brake cable and drums. All new. Getting the right parts guy is huge! I live in Alberta now and I still call my parts guy over in BC. I know when we ordered the drums and shoes we went off measurements from the old stuff. Good luck.

Re: HELP 65 chevy c10 rear brakes
As far as I know the 12 bolt backing plates are not interchangeable with the Dana 44.
As far as a different differential, a '73-'82 12 bolt or a '79-'87 8.5" 10 bolt will work. However those are all 1.5" wider and the spring perches will need to be moved slightly.
