Connundrum
I am restoring a 1966 C30. Rotted out basket case that I started with so nothing I do could really hurt it. My original thinking was to turn it into a single rear wheel fleetside truck. I already have the bed (needs work) to turn it into a normal 8' bed, I have to shorten the frame 6" to get the wheel base right. While I am going to do that, I plan on Z'ing the frame to drop the cab 5". I will adjust the front to the best ride height as I rebuild it.
My connundrum is that earlier tonight I got to thinking it would look cool lowered as a flat bed dual rear wheel. Stay with the dual 1 ton wheels, etc. What are your thoughts? Which would look cooler- a lowered LWB fleetside SRW 1 ton or a lowered flatbed 1 ton? I plan on using the truck for daily use- this won't be a garage or car show queen. If you have any pictures of either, please share them in this thread. Thanks! |

Re: Connundrum
Daily use as in daily driver. But I will also use it to pull my trailer with my 65 on it when I go racing.
I like the picture, but I was thinking more of a static drop. Air ride is a bit pricey for me. |

Re: Connundrum
Your much better off with airbags if your going to haul or pull a trailer. I have wanted a duelly flat bed , lowered and a dirty max...but that's me.

Re: Connundrum
Personally, I'd keep the duals for looks and the towing knowing duallies don't ride as smooth as a SRW.
