Re: Headers
My suggestion would be to check out the FAQ section under "Headers": http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=646002

Re: Headers
There's lots of good info in the FAQ link above, but I'll add my 2 cents. Based on several threads here and elsewhere, I put Hooker 2466HKRs on my '66 with a small block and turbo 400. They didn't fit worth a damn. I had to modify everything from shift linkage to dipstick location, to trimming and reinforcing the driver side motor mount perch. Your mileage may vary...

Re: Headers
I have a 65' with a sbc and have a set of block hugger headers similar to these. They fit with no interference with the factory 3 on the tree shifter linkages or clutch z bar. No modifications to anything were needed for them to fit.

Re: Headers
If you simply get a set of headers made specifically for your truck, you will not have any fitment issues as long as your engine and trans is in the factory location. Hedman #69260's are made to fit '55-'66 trucks with a small block. The Hedman 69090's and Hooker 2452's are made for later model trucks, but can work in the early trucks with some slight clutch linkage mods. Keep in mind that these are all long tube headers. There are mid length headers that will fit the engine and chassis, but I do not know if they will work with a manual trans. One of those would be Hedman 69648.
