Just acquired 67 c10, got a question
Finally my dream of owning a 67-72 style c10 came true. It's a 1967 350 (originally a 6 cyl) with the 3 on the tree. Guy found it in a field back in 1998 and restored it to a point. He's ready for the next project and had it for sell.
My question is about the gas pedal, it's missing on my truck, I bought a new one but the stud seems to be either covered or removed. Is this how the floor below the gas pedal looks like on other trucks?

The 67 - 70 had a stud mounted pedal. The 71 & 72 have a pedal that mounts to the throttle arm itself. Heres a page out of LMC's catalog that may help understand what you have. Yours may have been upgraded to a cable operated accelerator like the 71 - 72 type... http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=51 Nice score on that 67 stepper, shes a doll!

I found this picture in my file. Maybe it'll help. You can see the studs protruding through the carpet.

The stud holes are covered in your truck with some sort of patch material, you could remove it but might open a whole can of worms. I would just put it up with a couple sheet metal screws and enjoy the truck for now

Wow you are one short little guy! How do you drive that thing?
Nice-looking truck. I like the step bumper, as soon as I can I want to get one for my truck so I can climb into the bed easier. |

My 'Burb has been that way since dad removed the rubber pedal some time in the 90's. :P But yes, there are supposed to be 2 studs in the floor that the pedal pivots on.

Also, overweight parents often have overweight children, it's a national epidemic. My steering wheel rubs my thighs......my thighs are much bigger than when I was a teenager, but so is my seat! Dad had the seat over-padded! I'll have to fix that....it didn't bother me as a teen because I was bean pole skinny! Now I'm just 10 pounds away from my goal of being "fit" again. |

It look like a solid project to start with. What are your plans for the truck? I hope to see you keep it a stepper.
As for the gas pedal, like mentioned above, you could just install the pedal with sheet metal screws. Another option is a new pedal assembly from Lokar.

I really need to try and befriend the OP so I could sneak over there and steal that beautiful bench seat! What a wonderful color combination.
