Tailgate support bolts.

Somone told me about a tailgate support bolt for the 75 Blazer that has a spring on it to ensure that the support cable doesn't get caught and ding / damage the paing of body or gate. Can't seem to find them anywhere. Anyone know what they are called or where to source them??

actually my first quetsions should should be - Did the 1975 have cables as the support OR did it use the folding elbowed two piece metal arms as support.

Blazers use the cable tailgate supports. You can get them from a local parts store or LMC/Brothers/Classic Parts. Those springs that keeps the cables pointed down toward the hinge, I don't see them listed. You'll have to get those used.

HAs anyone got a picture of the spring thingys? I've never seen them

The tip of the knife is pointing at the end of the spring where it hooks over the cable and keeps tension on it toward the tailgate. You can see the middle is around the bolt the cable attaches to, and the other end rests against the inner lip of the tailgate to keep tension on the spring.

Ahahaa so thats what he was on about. Thank you - now all i have to do is find them.

OK Iv elooked EVERYWHERE I can think of for these spring gadgets. Any suggestions?

OK befor ethe great quest begins - two questions:
1. Were these also on later model sqaure body blazers and jimmys or anything esle?
2. What the EFF are they called? In the british army they would be : "Spring, tailgate support alignment, rear facing, bolt attached" but that hasn't got me far on ebay or with LMC or anywhere else thus far.

Not sure what they're called but they came on 73-91 Blazers
