rear bumper update

I was able to do a bit more on the rear bumper. You can see how the can holders are shaping up



The center potion is diamond-plated out to make a step



and hinged to make a box that will hold hitches, chains, etc.



or beer or anything else...

That is very nice! Could you please show pics of how it mounts to the frame?

Remember, it's not finished yet.

Right now, there are 2 8" wide pieces that are bolted to the outside of the frame thru existing holes. To these is welded the bumper.

(the red straps are currently holding the cumbersome 36 gal tank, that I will replace with a spare tire)


This view is thru the lid in the box. Evetially, the box will surround the frame, reinforcing it.



This is looking from the right side in. You can see the 8" butting up to the spring hangar.

I built a front bumper for a Jeep buddy using a large piece of pipe (and several smaller ones). I welded caps on the end of the large piece, and he drilled and tapped a air fitting quick-connect so he could use it as a air tank. Might be something you might consider for your armegeddon rear bumper! Don't really know what would happen in a collision though.....

The front one is an air tank. Lot's of folks have mentioned filling th rear with concrete. One even suggested propane for camping! I like the setup I have now.
