Gear ratio
I am looking into buying a 1/2 1500 gmc sierra. What would the gear ratio be on this? The vin is TKL146F743510 if that helps at all. Thanks!

Re: Gear ratio
Hi there, you would be better off getting the RPO code from the sticker in your glove box. Do a google search with that, and you should be able to find your factory ratio...... providing no one has changed the diff at some point...

Re: Gear ratio
Need a bit more detail: engine, trans, GVW more than likely.
If the truck was equipped with the base axle ratio then the SPID will show RPO "GQ1" and won't tell you what it is. If it has an optional ratio then it will have the RPO and the name (ie, GU6 = 3.42; GT4 = 3.73). K

Re: Gear ratio
In the spirit of not hijacking 2.73 was the base axle for an '84 1/2 ton swb with a 305 and 700R4.
Here is the generic info packet from the GM Heritage Center archive for your reference: https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...olet-Truck.pdf K

Re: Gear ratio
Does anyone know how to go about getting a replacement for the glovebox RPO sticker (well, not the sticker itself, just the info on it)?
