Re: 73-87 billet hood hinges
N2TRUX thanks for the correction. They are 73-80 not 87. As far as the rest of you complaining about the cost, get over it. Billet wheels are expensive. Billet anything is expensive. CNC machines arent cheap and research and development isnt cheap either. If you want something bad enough you save up for it. Customizing trucks and cars is a hobbie. All hobbies cost money. That more money than brains comment can only be said by a jealous person that cant afford them...

LOL You can also ask your self what is the first thing that some one looks at when they open the hood of a vehicle anyway. But thats neither here nor there for my concerns. Yes i would like to have a pair but couldnt justify them until i was done with everything else on my truck. |

Re: 73-87 billet hood hinges
I have to admit my reaction was of the knee jerk variety. Is there really a vehicle out there that wouldn't benefit from a billet ashtray, hand tooled pleather and genuine Fiberglas ram air hood? This is what makes America (and Manny, Moe & Jack) great.
We need to learn from my fellow Porschefiles who bristle at anything not made in Stuttgart being affixed to a P Car. (My 951's k&n cone filter puts me in outlaw territory...) Rather than bash the folks with hospital grade Nitrogen in their low profile unidirectional tires, we need only to start referring to ourselves as purists. Just a matter of perspective. Now everybody hug. Posted via Mobile Device |

My left nut started hurting when it thought I was going to sell it to get a pair!

Re: 73-87 billet hood hinges
Or we have a different opinion of what looks good, and prefer not having polished/chromed stuff on the truck.

Re: 73-87 billet hood hinges
I never thought I had much money or brains but I guess now I know which one I have more of.
They do sell them in gloss black, matte black, & black anodized if you want a set... |

Re: 73-87 billet hood hinges
What is it you're trying to accomplish? Looks, functionality, etc...?

Re: 73-87 billet hood hinges
I've seen this type of hinge for 55-59 trucks. Not sure if it is the same company or not but they look the same. The look was great but they don't open the hood as far as the stock hinge. Owner was pretty disappointed as far as the functionality of them.

Re: 73-87 billet hood hinges
They need to get it down to about half price, and half that bulk. Just my .02
At that point I'd consider buying some eventually |
