Stock engine bay
Does anybody else prefer a stock looking engine over a modified one? Even though I added vintage air to my rig, I have always liked the thermostatic air cleaner and general looks of a stock engine. Even if I had no emissions, I would probably still keep it stock looking.

Re: Stock engine bay
I generally prefer a stock or "factory appearing" engine bay. Anybody can throw speed parts under the hood. It takes skill to throw speed parts under the hood and make it looks like you haven't.

Re: Stock engine bay
I like a stock look too-having said that, keep my 86 K10 "looking" stock underhood but it's been updated with:
Dual batteries using a GM aux battery tray GM serpentine setup Upgraded 140A alternator T-Bird 2-speed electric fan mounted inside the stock truck shroud Headlight relay upgrade w/delay off Edelbrock Performer intake murdered out in black epoxy to look plain R-134 conversion on a restored stock GM AC system-and a stand alone relay to run the compressor clutch and idle solenoid I even opted to restore a pair of stock manifolds after seeing a few members here did theirs-I like the cast coat look. |

Re: Stock engine bay
It takes someone special to make ugly look pretty. Anybody can cover stuff up. It is about making your wires and hoses look good and properly routed
